A friend of mine (the same guy who told me about the boat I bought) told me recently that a company in Sweden had the licence for Albin genuine parts.  I have looked on the web but been unable to find anything - does anyone know of this?  I am particularly looking for a cockpit tent - but would like to find somehting designed for my ballard rather than have to have it cutom made.

Can anyone help me?

Thanks Mark

Try these folk: http://vegamarin.jetshop.se/. The site is almost entirely in Swedish, so have fun if, like me, you don't speak Swedish.

On the site's home page, go to the navigation bar on the left hand side. Select "Sok din Bat" / "Albin" / "Ballad". The cockpit tent (called a sprayhood) is on the second page of spare parts.

No connection with the company - not even as a customer, so good luck.

I have used vegamarin and can recommend them, but I had to get someone who understood Swedish to do it, because you have to register to purchase, and it was all too difficult in Swedish!

Have contacted them for a few bits. They are very helpful, despite my limitations with Swedish and theirs with English. Have actually sent them an email to ask about sprayhood and sail cover. Will let you know what the response is

I've used Vega Marine. I e-mailed asking for English assistance, and they e-mailed back an English translation on how to register (required to purchase stuff). I bought a new packing (stuffing) gland for Alte Liebe. It was part No 30003. It's different from the stock Ballad gland--it's oil filled and from the construction should be superior to the old part. After some e-mail questions, they sent me an additional rubber hose and rubber mitt for the installation. Seems to work great; will let you know in 5 to 10 years if it is still "great"
