by Jesper for everyone

Hi everybody!

I'm reinstalling my Windows on a new hard disk, and finding my pictures in different hiding places. I found the pictures of the Yanmar installation. The engine in the pictures is the 2YM15.  The extra 10 cm space on the shaft should make room even for the 3ym20 engine, since the three cylinder is 10 cm longer than the two cylinder engine.

Hi everybody!

At generally there might be a very important matter when installing a new engine in Ballad. Older engines were much higher than a new ones. Therefore the height between old exhaust muffler (water level in muffler!!) and exhaust outlet at new engine is less than 300 millimetres. This is a minimal value. There is a risk that water sucks backward toward engine when you shut down a engine. I have photos of my brand new engine ( 3 cyl. 21 hp Nanni 3.21) installation and how the problem might be resolved, but I don't know, that to post images to here. I didn't made engine installation by myself, all work was made by a professinonal company and installation is also accepted by a Nanni diesel.

Hello,
Regarding engine installation and Jespers measurement for a larger engine Yanmar.
YANMAR enginge 3YM20: I installed this one a year ago and it is perfect, if you want maximum power. 22 hp and 3 cylinders - very quiet, . and a 3 blade folding propeller from Flexifold, Denmark.

I should think this is the most powerful one you can enter into a Ballad engine hold. Some modifications as usual in the mounting bed but not much. A bit higher then the old Volvo Penta MD7.
