by Colin for everyone
I wonder if anyone has any data on the Volvo Penta MD7a control panel alarm unit?

Trying to trace another fault, I now can't get one of the lights and the Sonalert buzzer unit to sound on turning the ignition key.

If anyone has any experience of generic alterantives to (expensive) VP original equipment, I'd be interested to learn details.

Hi
I can only supply a guess: it seem to receive all alarm inputs, but only feeds the buzzer if it is temp or oil pressure alarm. If I get problems with mine, I will probably disconnect it, buy a second buzzer and connect one over each of the two lamps that shall also make a sound at alarm.

Thanks Peter.

Let me know what stage you have reached with your problem and I'll try to advise. The supplier of the Son-alert was not helpful but I obtained a similar product here in the UK. My main fault lies with the processor. I'm working on that.
