Price:   euro 18500

Sturdy 30ft cruiser with a half-tonner pedigree. Fully equipped, well maintained and ready to go. Back in 1993 Yachting Monthly wrote about the Ballad: ‘ Under sail she was and still is a witch to windward [..]. She is light, well-balanced and quite stiff. Thanks to the full skeg she tracks well downwind and heaves to quietly’. All sails are in excellent shape and relatively recent, new backstay 2010, new engine Volvo Penta in 2001, new upholstery 2011. A beauty to see at sea and in port!

The boat sails under Dutch flag and lives currently in South Brittany, France.

These sails are about 20 years old and made from standard Dacron and makes for pretty decent cruising sails for any yacht. Because I am racing my Ballad now, I have put a new suit of laminate sails on hence these are no longer required.

The sacrificial UV strip along the headsail is somewhat faded and could be replaced, however it still does it job of protecting the sails from damaging UV. There are tell tails on the sail and the luff rope is 6mm. This headsail could do with a launder and has a few small rust patches on it, however as it served with me, it will be a great cruising headsail!

One of the sliders on the mainsail is broken, and this again, could do with a jolly good scrub.

Advertised on ebay! Please let me know if you have any questions.
