Re: Standing Rigging

I never thought to compare. I had taken center to center measurements, was not clear on where the ( 13 ) measurements were taken . Boat is back in the water and I am glad. I did manage to miss the forestay length. Fortunately I could shorten in place with the Stay Loc fittings. Nice to know the rig ...

Re: Water Tank

Thanks for the suggestions. I ended up building a fiberglass tank. I used 1/8 " plywood for the start, made sure it fit, then glassed it inside and out. Made a top that is completely removable to allow me to seal the inside. Built in a 12 " inspection hatch. While doing the tank I moved th...

Re: Little?

Ballads are great cruising boats. Have lived on mine for 15 years, halfway round the planet, always singlehand. Check the mast step, lots of information here on that. I have added everything you mention except the water maker. Hard for me to justify the expense (both money and amap hours) for one pe...

Just had mine rebuilt, tech at shop told me to be sure to fill it with fuel before install. Without fuel the pump has no lubricant. Motor runs great.

Re: Standing Rigging

Thank you for translating, that helps. If someone else has the measurements I would like to compare.

Thank you for the reply, I don't read that language and my efforts at translation are fruitless. mark

Standing Rigging

I pulled my mast almost a year ago at the start of a refit. I carefully measured the old wire, and then recycled it. I'm ready to prepare the mast to go back in, I discovered I lost one piece of paper with the shroud lengths. Does anyone have these written down and willing to share? The mast is on s...

Water Tank

While refitting my boat I discovered my plastic water tank had to be replaced, long cracks on the sides and one almost ready to let go in the front v. I'm trying to decide if I want to make a replacement tank out of fiberglass or incorporate it into the hull. Not an engineer so I have no ideal if th...

Re: Propeller axle strut - Ballad

I had to remove my strut and then glass it back on. Had a rope get caught in the prop. Mine had a cup that I used again. It was moulded to the shape of the hull. To line it back up I installed a new cutlass bearing, attached the coupling to the back of the transmission, then used a boat stand to cen...
