Re: Volvo penta exhaust elbow (MD6A) out of production - hel

Hey Mads, last year I saw that exhaust part at a local store as a special offer. I will be in that shop this week again so I can ask for it. But I don´t know if it`s still available...are those parts similar to MD7a parts? Best regards Nico Hi Nico That would be awesome! :-) I don't know if it is p...

Volvo penta exhaust elbow (MD6A) out of production - help :)

Sorry about placing this under electric - the forum seems to be missing a place for engine related posts. I started cleaning the engine in my Ballad yesterday. I noticed some small drops of water on the exhaust elbow and wiped them away. Later I had a second look at the exhaust elbow and there had f...

Re: #332 restoration (ongoing)

Today and tomorrow the weather forecast promises temperatures between 5 C and 10 C. I decided to take advantage and do a bit of fiberglass work. In hindsight I should have cut the strips of glass a little wider. I'm planning to let it cure and add some more layers. How many layers should I aim for (...

Re: Cabin Floor Covering

I'm considering the exact same thing :) I'm looking at either Dek-King (http://www.wilks.co.uk/dek-king) or isiteek (http://www.isiteek.com/tag/teak). Leaning towards Dek-King.

Would also love to hear from anybody with any experience/advice.

Re: Video of hullpainting

Great video and very interesting pictures on your blog :-) I too am planning on replacing the old thru hulls and seacocks with composite ones from TruDesign. Are you going to use the flush mounted thru hull fittings (http://www.trudesignplastics.com/products/37-skin-fittings-recessed) or the ones th...

Re: #1085 Ongoing Restoration Pictures

Peter, don't know if you are aware of this. Your restoration project has been mentioned in "Ballad bladet" (small quarterly magazine published by the Danish Ballad association) :-)

Re: White bulkheads?

yup :) As you can see not a lot of the bolts are visible. That being said the right (thorough) thing to do is properly something along the lines of what Peter and Bob are describing ;)

Re: White bulkheads?

Looking very much forward to seeing some pictures :-) I have the same indentations on my bulkheads. I don't think they are going to be noticeable once everything is put back together so I chose to leave them as-is. My bulkheads had lots of holes from screws and wiring those I filled with thickened e...

Re: New vinyl liner

I plan on using the exact same foam-backed vinyl liner although it is a bit expensive (180 DKK pr meter in Denmark). The price is roughly the same in the UK. How expensive is it in Sweden? I'm considering using a combination of a cheap 6 mm closed cell foam mat (http://jysk.dk/udendors/luftmadrasser...

Re: White bulkheads?

I don't think you will regret painting the ceiling :) It was fairly easy to do and made a huge difference down below. I actually stole the idea with the pole from Peter but thanks ;) Looking forward to seeing some photos when spring comes around. Fingers crossed for an early and exceptional worm spr...
