Re: Cockpit bulkhead

Thanks for taking yout time measuring and your replies! I guess I will have to buy the model designed for 0-10 degrees, since the other one is designed for 10-25 degrees.

BTW, this is the compass: http://www.navimousa.com/Contest.pdf. My local dealer gave me a great offer, only 117$ :)

Cockpit bulkhead

Does anybody have an idea of what the cockpit bulkhead inclination might be? I'm looking for a new bulkhead mounted compass and if the inclination exceeds 10 degrees the model is different.

Re: Moving home

Phew! Finally the mobile crane arrived at 10pm  It was pitch dark so I couldn't take any pictures from the lift/transport but she is at home now and all went well :D The driver really took it slow and easy, we used a lifting beam and couldn't notice any excessive flexing in the hull.

Re: Moving home

Thanks for the advice. I have now mounted a post from side to side just in front of the opening.

Today is the day :D

Re: Moving home

Thanks Bob, I guess the flexing was transverse? Do you think a post from side to side (mounted under the gunwale) just in front of the opening will be enough?

Re: Moving home

I have now mounted a post between the floor and the cabin top and connected it with a post secured between the main chainplates (they are still in place, will be removed when the main bulkheads are restored). This post between the chainplates was actually used by many Ballads racing in Scandinavia i...

Re: Moving home

Thanks Peter,

I believe I have to mount something similar. Did you notice any excessive movement in the hull during lifting or was this enough?

Moving home

We have now sold or motoryacht so it is time to move Sanlen to our driveway. This way the restoration will go much faster and easier. The plan is to move her on next Thursday. I do have some concerns since I have removed all bulkheads. The main bulkhead is still in place but the two pieces aren't co...

Re: New table, what to do?

Jan: I bet it was a photo of your articulating table that is stuck in my memory. I know it was cleverly done.:) Do you have a picture of your table mounting solution you could share? By coincidence the new Good Old Boat magazine came yesterday, and there is an advertisment for that Lagun table in i...

Re: New table, what to do?

We use the "Lagun" setup and have found it very useful. When not in use it can be swung over the salon settee and it can also be mounted in the cockpit (with an extra mounting plate). We have even used it under sail in the cockpit in light conditions :D
