Re: Rigid dodger

Very interesting! Having a rigid dodger seems very practical. Looks like he did a very nice job. I would love to see images of the other customizations you mention :)

Re: #332 restoration (ongoing)

The next three days are going to be unusually warm here in Denmark. I'm going to take advantage of this and insulate the hull (the recommended glue requires over 18 degrees Celsius). I'm going to use two layers of foam for a total of 15 mm. The below images show the first layer. I'm very exited to s...

Re: Restoring Fionn (1972 Ballad #18(?))

Looking good, Bob. I'm sure you'll find a good solution for routing a hose to the galley :-)

Placement of VHF, stereo, battery monitor and navtex?

Soon it's time to start cutting holes for all the gadgets :-) I'm looking for suggestions on where to mount my VHF, stereo (head unit), battery monitor and navtex (both battery monitor and navtex are from NASA marines clipper series). I would love to have easy access to the VHF (Standard Horizon GX2...

Re: Restoring Fionn (1972 Ballad #18(?))

I'm very much looking forward to seeing how Fionn turns out. Very interesting plans! :-) What are your plans for the old location of the head? Are you planning on keeping the galley in its original configuration?

That water tank looks gorgeous - good job :-)

Re: #332 restoration (ongoing)

Hehe, if the guy to the far left is still alive he must be kicking himself every day knowing that picture is out there. Hard to believe the country that created something as beautiful as our Ballads also spawned those outfits ;-) Exiting, Bob - pictures please :-) Where did you get your hands on tha...

A quick video showing the current state of my Ballad :-) Filmed with a GoPro mounted on top of a kitchen timer. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_xuuhoFi-v8 Old vs. new upholstery (the yellow is the original upholstery from 1973) https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-rq5oMJK7KKQ/U1EGwCO7p1I/AAAAAAAAGXU/...

Re: #332 restoration (ongoing)

I polished the barbeque grill. *sigh* Looking good, Mads. Good you have some decent weather to work in. Today and tomorrow are the first above-freezing days this whole year, and the winds are blowing 40mph. I may start dorade work, anyhow. For the holding tank: you can find nylon (Delrin?) tank/bul...
