Re: Shaft Bearing, outer diameter?

Your probably right about the shaft bearing, it can come loose and cause vibrations. I can check the outer diameter on Sanlen tomorrow. The vibrations may be caused by other things as well. Is the engine in line with the prop shaft? Is the folding prop ok? The metal arm that holds the shaft bearing ...

Re: Adding a second battery

I found this nice wiring diagram for the MD6A. You should be able to connect the lead from the yellow lamp (#1 in your picture) to D+ on your alternator instead. And yes, the yellow lamp is the charging lamp :D
I hope you can read the diagram, image resolution is bad.

Re: Adding a second battery

I disconnected the DF lead in both ends (reconnected in the picture below). Today I had planed on taking the motor for a spin - as I'm still waiting for my headsail. When I switched on the engine I noticed the yellow light was on (according to the manual that is the oil pressure warning light). I h...

Re: Adding a second battery

Sorry for the late reply - we had our national holiday in Sweden and payed a visit to our youngest son who is serving in the Navy on one of our latest ships - the stealth version. We got a private tour - I must say it is a impressive ship :) . The Dynastart is a DC starter/alternator and will take n...

Re: Adding a second battery

Thanks for your comments Jan - I appreciate it very much :) I'm quite the novice when it comes to this sort of stuff ;) I've learned the hard way :D (and I hopefully remember some from school) 1. Maybe I have misunderstood the manual (the two images below is from the manual http://www.nasamarine.co...

Re: Adding a second battery

Mads, I see som problems with your drawing: 1. The negativ lead from the starter battery to Nasa BM-1 is of no use - the BM-1 is only for one battery bank. 2. The solution requires that the charging function of the Dynastart has been disabled - it can easily be done at the big relay in your first pi...

Re: #332 restoration (ongoing)

That was quick! Congratulations, Mads. Are your windows still leaking? I've forgotten what steps you took to seal them. Thanks, Bob :-) 3 of the 4 windows all failed within a few days of each other. I rebedded them in the fall using butyl tape. This time I'm using SikaFlex 291. It's gonna be a real...
