Re: water inside the rudder

HI Miguel I don't think there is any need to worry :-) I've seen this kind of question pop up on multiple forums. My ballad has a long grove cut into the bottom of the rudder. It was like that when the previous owner got the boat so it's been this way at least the last 7 years - properly much longer...

Re: Fun Google finds

Hahaha, awesome! :)

Hope I don't come across that combination on my summer cruise! Leaving next friday for 6 weeks of pure sailing fun :)

Great finds, Bob :) Would love to do a trip like the one Takamaka has planed. What an adventure! :-)

Vind i seglen (old saling video)

The narrator speaks Swedish but there are still some very nice shots of some Ballads :) It's basically a tutorial on how to trim your sails. Enjoy the nostalgia :D

Re: Shaft Bearing, outer diameter?

I would be very grateful if you could check the outer diameter :) I did notice a similar sound last summer (when i sailed the boat home). When I got the boat on the hard i had a look at the arm that supports the shaft and noticed it moved a little when I applied force. A closer look revealed some de...

Shaft Bearing, outer diameter?

When I rev up my fateful old MD6A (only when in gear) I can feel some shaking and there is a sound. I've checked the engine mounts they all seem fine. I'm thinking it must be the shaft bearing. Are there any other common reasons for this behavior? Assuming it is a worn shaft bearing I should properl...

Re: Adding a second battery

Just a guess here, & hopefully someone w/ more experience will add a better opinion. Looks like from the diagram your oil pressure sensor borrows its 12vdc POSITIVE(+) from a pigtail attached to the Dynastart's charging output leg. This is a handy place to tap in, since the oil pressure sensor ...

Re: Adding a second battery

I disconnected the DF lead in both ends (reconnected in the picture below). Today I had planed on taking the motor for a spin - as I'm still waiting for my headsail. When I switched on the engine I noticed the yellow light was on (according to the manual that is the oil pressure warning light). I ha...
