Re: New facias for galley and chart table shelves

Nice job there, looks very tidy. I like the way that you squeezed the radio in the gap too. Maybe I should move mine there. It's currently behind the seat.
You have an mppt controller, what have you got in the way of panels, and where are they fitted?

Re: Where do you put your batteries?

Hi Mark, Did you ever move the batteries? Mine are in the bottom of the same locker as yours,so I could just drop one in the same locker you have yours in,but I keep eyeing up the wasted space below the cockpit floor. A battery mounting under there would provide additional support and bracing for th...

Re: Mast step truss, inevitably:(

I think I would do just that. It would give me the confidence that it was well stuck together. I wonder how the two halves were attached originally. Is it just filler, and some cloth on the inside?

slow conversation this, but I didn't think you had a rust problem? just the movement in the truss was perhaps a problem?

Re: Mast step truss, inevitably:(

I think I would want to open the gap wider to make sure I could fill it securely. I'm not sure how you would get the epoxy to the bottom of the gap?
Slow setting and get everything very warm?

Re: Window replacement

I've not heard any more from Technautic. Their price incl vat was £682.22.

After a few weeks looking at the windows, I'm still quite happy with the quality and value. I may have ordered a shade darker if I did it again, but these are a close match for the originals.

Re: Window replacement

Hi Mark,

Dave at www.technauticmarinewindows.co.uk is checking to make sure they still have them. Probably be an idea to contact him direct.

I 'm well happy with them so far. My crew is disappointed I didn't line the screw heads up.

Window replacement

When I was at the Ballad nationals I saw one boat that had been fitted with Technautic windows. They were a bolt through style. I had never been happy with the stainless screws into a track on the original windows, and the seals on mine were about 50% Sikaflex so I contacted Technautic for a quote. ...

Re: Tiller

It's a problem for the crew when tacking, as they have to kneel on the seats to winch and tail. I have also come into my berth to find I can't hit the gap because someones leg is stopping the tiller moving. Did cause a bit of a moment. It's a 2 owner boat, and many things are original, so I would ex...
