Not sure this is the Ballad I'm thinking of -- the photo may have been on the old Ballad Exchange site.
Here is a table hinged to the bulkhead with a drop leaf and stowage behind:
And some drop-down tables are either stood off from the bulkhead (by a cleat or storage cabinet) or notched so they can be lowered, then slid sideways around the mast to centerline.
Due to the Ballad's relatively low headroom near the mast, making a bulkhead-mounted table that is both long enough and that offers adequate thigh clearance will be challenging. I am turning ideas over in my head & will probably mock something up before refinishing the bulkheads. Weight is also a consideration, so we may choose a hollow core or foam composite material. Would be kind of neat to have the show side (while stowed upright) made with acrylic mirror....
What we have planned for the saloon bunks is even more strange.

BTW, the composting head (advanced prototype) is working like a charm.

I think it is a winner.
