Thanks Bengt!

How do I link the previous messages to this one?

The Chassie pdf has a lot of useful information. I would really appreciate the chance to see your A Cad drawings. If it is easier for you, send them to me at trentmoraitis@yahoo.com. The only other data I have found was a cradle drawing on the Danish site. Are your trailer drawings your own design or based on anothers? My boatyard requires that all boats over 30' must be on cradles. I am currently renting one for the winter - but will construct my own in the spring. My thought is that if I have to build one - why not make it a trailer. Then I can move the boat if needed - most likely to my yard for ease of repairs and to save on storage fees. The only design change I may have to do is to make it a dual axel (I have to check on this more) so that I can have it inspected and registered in New York for road travel.

Thanks,
Trent

Hi Trent

Your message is already linked to the previous message, at least I think so. But it seems MSN Groups has been changed in the way it shows messages in discussions. In fact I think it seems as if it doensn't work correctly anymore. Lets hope it will come back to normal again soon.

With regard to the Auto CAD drawings. If they can be attached to a message in this forum, then more people have easier access to them, and that's the general idea of ballad Exchange. Please try out the Attach function just above the textframe when you write postings. Pictures are best shown integrated in the text, (I think) and they can be integrated using the following tip (which is a picture itself):

Hi
I am going to transport my Ballad by trailer in a week or two. The driver needs to know exactly how tall the boat is to choose the right trailer, does anybody know? It is 1,5m below water, but how about above up to the "roof-top"? My boat is currently 120km away so I am unable to do measure myself.

Appricate any answer!

Hi Knut

If you apply a ruler or a tape measure to the drawing on the front page of Ballad Exchange, I am sure you will agree with me that it is safe to say the Ballad extends a little further below the water than above the waterline. making room for a couple of whinches on the top of the cabinhouse, I would say for saftety that above and below water is equal. Rember however that the draft is 1.54 meters. So the entire hight shold be 3.08 meter. Or 3.1 meters.

The drawing might not be very precise, and you might want to look for better drawings on the Swedish or the Danish Ballad Club websites.

Jesper.
