I've been looking for a jib (Genoa IV ?)to compliment my 140 genoa.  Mainly to have something I can step down to on windier days.  Instead of having one made, I found a used sail with the measurements

Luff:   32'1"
Leech:  29'6"
Foot:  10'10"
LP: 10'2"

I know it doesn't exactly match the "official" measurements,  but the sail is in excellent condition, and it is a good price.  Should I buy it?

Best thing would be to try it on, if possible. If it works and looks OK, then Buy it, for sure.

Second best thing would be to draw up the shape, on a sail drawing, and calculate where the sheet block would have to be positioned on the deck. The triangular relations can be so that the sheet block would have to be in a position which is either in front of or aft of the entire sheet block rail. It could theoreticlly also be so unfortunate, that the sail would reach the deck. But draw it up on a sail plan.

You will find a sailplan in this "Brief presentation" (very long and very interesting) made by the Swedish ballad Club:
