by cracklinrosie07 for everyone
Hello,

Just become the owner of Cracklin' Rosie, 1973 model and have been told by Insurance company that we need to make alterations to Gas layout (probably needs to have its own sealed locker). Has anybody done a similar convertion?

Also we are adding battery isolation switch, but batteries currently located in saloon bilges. Is this standard? Any other suggestions? Is it desirable to move them?

Thanks!

In the posting "New LPG regs" you will find answers to most of your questions regarding Gas Locker, plus links to drawings on the Danish Ballad Club Website.

Batteries standardlocation is under the bunks out front, aft of the water tank. Some have moved them aft however, but I never heard of them in the bilge.

Kind regards Jesper Milling

Thanks Jesper,

We did think it was a rather strange place for the batteries to be!

Looking at LPG thread thanks!

hya,

we built a box in the aft locker, and, according to the Insurance company sureyor, if the box is vented outside, with an open top, the boxside hinged, then flexible piping throughout is acceptable.

On our Ballad the battery isolator switches are above the aft berth, where we've put the fuse box etc

hope this helps
