by Nicholas for everyone
I've always found the original closet awkward to use since it was very difficult to store folded clothes and bedding. To this end, I've built two shelves in order to divide the closet into three spaces. The lower one is for shoes and boots, while the upper ones are for bedding, clothing, life jackets and the medical kit. The first thing I did was to enlarge the original opening and also cut a second opening at the bottom. I then used some spare iroko battens for the wood trim, plus a sheet of 8mm plywood for the shelves. The shelves rest on wooden blocks screwed to the forward and main bulkheads. All in all, storage and access have been greatly improved.
