Hope this is the right place. I have been searching for the plaque showing the boats hull number. What places have you all found yours? I have search but not found this yet.

The reason i want to try and find it is that our registration book says no. 50 in 1972 and the sails say 46???

My registration number is on a plate just below the companion way near the "old" motor controls and light switches. However, my ballard was built in 1976 so earlier models may vary.

The hull number is part of the serial number molded into the starboard stern just below the rail. My number is: AMND1266M78C. AMN=Ablin Marin, D=?, perhaps Ballad, 1266 is the hull number, M78= manufactured in1978, C=March.

To Jerry and everyone else.

How about taking pictures of all the different kinds of hull number plaques, and moldings and so on, and posting them in this discussion. I have never seen half of the hull number markings you guys are talking about, and other owners can't seem to find any hull numbers at all. I'll take a photo of my owh plaque as soon as possible.

Hey Guys...

I posted a pict of the hull ID plate in the pictures forum (Vagabond Dreamer) when we were restoring the boat...I had polished and repainted it...It's a nicely done bronze plate on my boat.
